Happy Solstice

WARM GREETINGS FROM SNOWY MINNESOTA

This was ten days ago when we got seventeen inches, but we've had more since and are on our way to our snowiest December ever. Solstice marks a nice time to think about lessening or letting go of some things and increasing others in the new year as the days increase with light. Happy holidays to each of you.

Oh my, John! I don't envy you all that shoveling. Thanks for the thought-provoking message about lessening some things and increasing others at the time of the winter solstice.

Love the photo! We got stuck in Michigan City, Indiana. Similar amount of snow that kept coming down over two days. Semis jack-knifed on the highway. But the good old train got me home (husband had to wait for the roads to clear to get the car back). I LOVE this photo. How long did it take to get your car out? That looks like a couple of hours at least!

Amy, we waited for two days and once the plows came some neighbors pitched in and we dug it out in half an hour. The train was a great idea and I bet it was a pretty trip.

Funny, we thought we missed snow when we moved West. Not so sure anymore! I do love that the darkest days of the year are met with this coat of white--natures exchange for light.
