Short for Something

"Is Sam short for something?"

"Samantha." Sam stuck her finger in her mouth. "I hate that name. What about Eddie?"

"It's short for Edwina. I hate that more. I don't like Eddie that much either. I'm going to change my name this year to something cooler, more distinct."

"What?"

"Edie. From now on I'm Edie."

"I like it, Edie."
