I had an amazing month in Scotland with two weeks on the isle of Skye. My father-in-law has lung cancer and wanted one last trip to see family members and his beloved landscape. Both were accomplished and Alastair celebrated his 80th birthday with his twin brother in Perth. Now he back at home in England and the lung cancer is progressing. We all feel fortunate to have had this time together.

ReplyDeleteWish I was there! I'm humming Skye Boat Song as I type. This was homecoming year in Scotland, I understand. I lived with an Edinburgh family on a college overseas program, studied at the University of Edinburgh, and had many wonderful trips all around Scotland. Made it west to Mull and Iona, as far north as Aberdeen, but never Skye, which I heard is splendid. Glad you had that special time with your father-in-law. Welcome back; we have missed you. More pictures!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, John. So glad you all had that time together in such a gorgeous place.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, John! It sounds like a marvelous month, although the circumstances are bittersweet, I know. This glimpse of Scotland is beautiful.
