One of the joys of self-employment is that we get to keep making these decisions as things change.johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09674921059674712837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-339010711047634783.post-33348496243193971832010-12-08T15:44:50.968-08:002010-12-08T15:44:50.968-08:00I totally agree, Christy-- the noise does prevent ...I totally agree, Christy-- the noise does prevent us from going deep and sometimes we want it that way and sometimes it is time to turn off that noise!Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08131575604953515285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-339010711047634783.post-86523601944439554992010-12-08T14:27:02.967-08:002010-12-08T14:27:02.967-08:00Lauren, just finished Franzen's FREEDOM. Though I certainly love music, I find that I want silence in my studio. I think Franzen is on to something in that Oprah interview when he claims that in that silence he can "start to figure out what the real deep conflicts of myself are." The noise prevents us from going deep.Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09408845654668250300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-339010711047634783.post-84875666380660831992010-12-08T14:21:03.454-08:002010-12-08T14:21:03.454-08:00Interesting thought that "solitude" is n...Interesting thought that "solitude" is not truly solitude these days until the internet is shut off.
